Chaplains today are dealing with a "mental health crisis" as the number of soldiers coming home from years of war reunite with their families and integrate within society. PTSD and moral injury are topics many chaplains are dealing with among soldiers under their spiritual care. 

We have 33 million veterans coming home from war who have been traumatized and have dealt with life and death situations. As believers, we live in a world that is full of trauma because of the fallen nature of our world - of sin. We are in this perpetual cycle of sharing the gospel, healing the brokenhearted, and then discipling them so they can go do the same.
